Sherry cask whisky, also known as sherry-matured whisky, is a type of whisky that has been aged in casks that previously held sherry. The casks are typically made of European oak and have been used to age sherry for several years before being used to age whisky.West Cork Whiskey is a product of the largest independently owned distillery on the island of Ireland. Our distillery was established in 2003 by three childhood friends with a passion for high quality products and challenging tradition.Every bottle of Patrón Sherry Cask Aged Añejo is a testament to Patrón's pursuit of perfection. Aged for over two years in Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks, the tequila develops rich notes of oak, caramel, vanilla, clove, walnut, pecan nuts and dried fruit.West Cork Distillers was founded in 2003 by three childhood friends, John O'Connell and cousins Ger McCarthy and Denis McCarthy.
