Distillery Information

In 1909, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin acquired the underground white limestone quarries, known as crayères, located under Saint-Nicaise Hill on the outskirts of the city centre of Reims.
Veuve Clicquot Rosé is the result of a blending of grapes from as many as 50 to 60 different crus, and is composed of up to 45% reserve wines. The cuvée, based on the traditional Yellow Label blend and completed with Pinot Noir red wine, reveals red fruit aromas, gourmandise and strength.
Veuve Cliquot is one of the Champagne region's most iconic houses. The yellow labelled bottles are instantly recognisable and the conistent quality of its Champagne has made Veuve Clicquot one of the largest Champagne producers in the world. The star of the Veuve Cliquot range is the Brut Yellow Label.
This cuvée is the result of a blending of grapes from as many as 50 to 60 different crus, and, is composed of up to 45% reserve wines. The Pinot Noir predominance provides its strength, while Chardonnay provides its freshness and a touch of Meunier its fruitiness.
The Veuve Clicquot vineyard is comprised of 47% Chardonnay grapes, 36% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier. The Clicquot vines are mostly situated on gentle sloping hills allowing the vines to benefit from shallow soil and a maximun exposure to sunlight.
The most common method of making Rosé Champagne is to blend white and black grape musts with a small amount of red wine (between 5 and 15%). This produces a Rosé Champagne of assembly. The proportion of red wine can vary, but the white wine must be the majority in this mode of production.
