Distillery Information

Tequila Dahlia is a reposado tequila finished with the cristalino process to create the smoothest, most delicate luxury tequila crafted to sip effortlessly from daytime to nightfall. Dahlia is a full agave tequila, equally at home in a glass to be savored, or as part of your favorite tequila cocktails.
One of the first cristalino expressions to hit the market, this tequila was released in 2011 to commemorate founder Don Julio Gonzalez's entry into tequila making 70 years earlier. The liquid is aged for 18 months in American white oak barrels before being charcoal-filtered to remove its color.
Cristalino Tequila derives its name from the Spanish word “Cristalino,” meaning “crystalline” or “clear.” At its core, Cristalino Tequila is an aged Tequila, which includes categories such as Reposado, Añejo, and Extra-Añejo, that has undergone a unique filtration process.
Today there are over 40 cristalinos and counting, most created through variations of activated-charcoal filtration, which removes not just the color but also the “woodiness” from aged tequilas while enhancing the agave's fruit and floral characteristics.Tequila Dahlia is a Reposado made with estate grown, 100% mature agaves finished with advanced charcoal filtration technology. This extra step reduces impurities & results in Dahlia's signature, clean flavor: hints of oak, the taste of vanilla and a long finish of cooked agave.
Tequila is a distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant. The drink is typically composed of 40% – 60% alcohol by volume (80 – 120 proof) and is made in Mexico. Tequila is made from the heart of the agave plant, which is called the piña.Many sources state that the name "Dahlia" was bestowed by the pioneering Swedish botanist and taxonomist Carl Linnaeus to honor his late student, Anders Dahl, author of Observationes Botanicae.
The Dahlia has been in Europe for over two hundred years. It came from Mexico to the Botanical Gardens in Madrid towards the end of the eighteenth century and was named by Abbe Cavanille in honour of Andreas Dahl, Swedish scientist come environmentalist.
The common garden variety dahlia was once an important root crop and medicinal plant among the pre-Columbian Indians of central Mexico, Yucatan and Guatemala. Its roots were valued both for the nutritious inulin stored inside them and for the antibiotic compounds concentrated in the skin of the tubers.
