Aromas of roasted nuts, jellied pear honeysuckle. Tastes of black pepper and clove come through early on the palate, ripe citrus and baked apple develop before a smooth, long finish.

Distillery Information

Made from 100% Premium Indica Long Grain Rice, Shibui 30yr Old Japanese Whisky is crafted in Okinawa, Japan. Fermented with Indigenous Okinawan Black Koji & Yeast, this whisky is double distilled in stainless steel pot-stills before it is aged for 30 years in Ex-Bourbon, Sherry & Virgin European White Oak.
The Beginnings The first Japanese whisky distillery was established in 1924 by Shinjiro Torii, who wanted to bring the taste of Scotland to Japan. Torii hired Masataka Taketsuru, who had studied whisky-making in Scotland, to help establish the distillery and produce the first Japanese whisky.
Located at the base of Mount Fuji, this Kirin-owned distillery is the largest distillery in the world, producing 12 million litres of whisky each year.
The Yamazaki Whisky is Suntory's flagship single malt whisky, from Japan's first and oldest malt distillery.
