Introducing Robert Mondavi Winery Napa Merlot Wine, a distinguished representation of the renowned Napa Valley terroir and the winemaking legacy of Robert Mondavi. Crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail, this exceptional wine showcases the depth, complexity, and elegance that characterize Napa Valley Merlot.

Sourced from select vineyards throughout Napa Valley, the Merlot grapes are carefully handpicked at optimal ripeness to capture the essence of the region's diverse microclimates. The wine is then fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of the fruit, followed by aging in oak barrels to enhance its richness and complexity.

Distillery Information

In 1943, the family purchased the historic Charles Krug winery in Napa Valley. In 1966, Michael and his father Robert partnered to create Robert Mondavi Winery, then threw themselves behind promoting not just the winery's releases, but all Napa Valley wine.
He was one of the most influential figures in the American wine world of the late twentieth century. From the launch of the Robert Mondavi Winery in 1966 to his later role as spokesman for wine, Robert Mondavi redefined the place of wine in American food culture.
Robert Mondavi, Private Selection, Chardonnay, California, dry, white 0.75L.
This Napa Valley Chardonnay dry white wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels, 26% of which were new, and undergoes 97% malolactic fermentation and lees stirring for five months. It has 14% alcohol by volume.
Champagne, Chablis, and Burgundy account for more than three-fifths of all Chardonnay plantings in France. The next-largest concentration is found in the Languedoc, where it was first planted around the town of Limoux and up to 30% can be blended with Mauzac in the sparkling Blanquette de Limoux.
Wine Profile: Our 2021 Napa Valley Chardonnay is intended to be the best of both worlds stylistically. The nose opens with rich and layered aromas of pear, mandarine, tuberose, vanilla and oak spice. The palate is met with flavors of brioche, apple pie, lemon curd and fresh pineapple.
Because of its unique geologic history, Napa Valley has a remarkable diversity of microclimates, weather and geography, as well as some of the most diverse soils found on earth. As a result, an array of premium wine grapes thrives here.
For the past 30 to 40 years, the City of Napa has been in transition. The City that was once known for its tanneries, prune processing and State hospital is now more known for its hospitality, fine food, and luxury hotels.
One specific reason why Napa Valley gained its reputation as America's most notable wine country is that it produces some of the most highly acclaimed wines in America (not only Cabernet Sauvignon). It makes wines that command international attention, high scores, and high prices.
