Distillery Information

The Clase Azul brand came to life in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1997. The founder, Arturo Lomeli, was a 23-year-old bar owner who dreamt of sharing his Mexican hometown and heritage with the world. So, he teamed up with a friend to make and sell their own tequila.
All Clase Azul is produced using 100% Blue Agave. The piñas are cooked for 72 hours in stone ovens, pressed using a roller mill and fermented in stainless steel tanks using proprietary yeasts. The wash is then twice distilled in Copper Pot stills.
Don Julio 1942 spends at least two and a half years aging, which makes it an añejo tequila, and only three barrels are made in each distilling cycle. These factors, along with its reputation as a luxury product, result in a hefty price tag.As with anything in life if you want the best you need to go to the source. Jalisco Mexico is where tequila was born and so of course it's where you'll find this spirit at its finest and where 95% of all tequila in Mexico is produced.
