Distillery Information

Grapes are sourced from a number of Delicato-owned vineyards in the Central Coast and the Central Valley, including the single-vineyard AVA San Bernabe in Monterey County, and the Clay Station vineyard in Lodi.
The Pinot Grigio we are all accustomed to tends to exhibit white peach notes, slight citrus tings and a hint of pear. An element of perfume and light spice round off what is a light, easy-sipping white, while you may also experience additional flavours of honeysuckle, green apple or even grapefruit.
Pinot Grigio has as rich of a history as it does a flavor palate. While thought to originate in Italy, Pinot Grigio is actually a mutant from a popular French grape known as Pinot Gris, derived from the red wine grape, Pinot Noir.
The earliest evidence of wine is from the present-day Georgia (6000 BCE), Persia (5000 BCE), Italy and Armenia (4000 BCE). New World wine has some connection to alcoholic beverages made by the indigenous peoples of the Americas, but is mainly connected to later Spanish traditions in New Spain.
Noble grapes are also known as International Varieties which are grape varieties that are widely planted in most of the major wine producing regions and have widespread appeal. History has a lot to do with the prevalence of French wine grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
Ah Pinot Grigio, a zesty white wine that is as refreshing as a cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer's day. The second most popular white wine in America, Pinot Grigio (aka Pinot Gris) is a dry white wine that has a punchy acidity with flavors of lemons, limes, green apples and honeysuckle.
