Distillery Information

The brand was owned by Champagne Mercier but was given to Moët in 1927. Moët & Chandon merged with Hennessy Cognac in 1971 and with Louis Vuitton in 1987 to become LVMH (Louis-Vuitton-Moët-Hennessy), the largest luxury group in the world, netting over 16 billion euros in fiscal 2004.
Not everyone knows this, but the rich flavour and colour of champagne results from combining three different types of grapes : Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Each grape varietal contributes its own special qualities to the uniquely delectable pleasure of Moët & Chandon champagnes.
A bottle of the vibrantly fruity Moët & Chandon Rosé NV champagne. The cépage is approximately 45% Pinot Noir (of which 10% still red wine), 40% Pinot Meunier (of which 10% still red wine) and 15 % Chardonnay and is bottled with a dosage of 9 grams per litre of sugar.
Back in 1743, Claude Moet, a wine merchant, founded the Moet & Chandon Champagne House, quickly giving it a reputation of importance in great European courts. His grandson, Jean-Remy Moet, made Moet & Chandon an international hallmark of luxury and a symbol of celebration.
