The location selected to produce MARTINI & ROSSI® was no lucky accident. The tiny village of Pessione was carefully chosen for its proximity to the winemakers of Piedmont, the botanical-rich foothills of the Alps, the vermouth trade of Turin and the port of Genoa.The company started in the mid-19th century, as a vermouth bottling plant in Pessione – the Distilleria Nazionale di Spirito di Vino. Three men came to dominate the company, businessman Alessandro Martini, winemaker Luigi Rossi and accountant Teofilo Sola. In 1863, they changed the name to Martini, Sola & Cia.MARTINI & ROSSI is named after a wine merchant and a master blender. It was in 1863 that Martini's enterprising spirit and Rossi's creative genius were galvanized into a unique formula that has endured for more than 150 years: the inimitable MARTINI.
Carlo Rossi is a California-based value wine brand established and owned by the beverage giant E. & J. Gallo. It produces a number of red and white table wines all under the broad California designation, and is famous for its jug wines, which are larger than a standard bottle and have become iconic to the brand.Martini & Rossi Asti is a fruity sparkling wine made from the finest 'Moscato Bianco' grapes grown in the heart of the prestigious Italian D.O.C.G. area. Top quality ripe grapes from a single variety are fermented once only.
