Tasting Notes

Appearance:
Kasama Rum presents a lustrous amber hue, reminiscent of the golden sunsets over the Philippine islands. Its clarity and brilliance promise an enticing drinking experience.

Nose:
Upon nosing, the aroma is vibrant and aromatic, with inviting notes of caramel, vanilla, and toasted coconut. Subtle hints of tropical fruits, such as pineapple and banana, dance harmoniously, while delicate spices linger in the background, adding depth and complexity.

Palate:
The palate is treated to a smooth and velvety texture, with flavors of ripe banana, pineapple, and molasses taking center stage. The sweetness of caramelized sugar melds seamlessly with the warmth of oak, creating a rich and indulgent experience. Distillery Information

After five to six days in fermentation, the resulting “wash” is transferred to our 500-gal pot still, where the liquid is heated to separate the alcohols. The still converts the alcohols to vapor form and then returns it to liquid through a condenser.The traditional history of modern-style rum tells of its invention in the Caribbean, in the 17th century, by slaves on sugarcane plantations, who discovered that molasses, a by-product of the sugar refining process, could be fermented into alcohol, and then distilled.
A premium aged, single-island rum from the Philippines, Don Papa is crafted on the fertile foothills of the active volcano Mt. Kanlaon - where the finest blades of sugarcane are expertly milled to produce sweet, rich molasses.
Alexandra Dorda is the founder of Kasama Rum, a small-batch rum inspired by her mother's native Philippines. Alexandra's love of craft spirits comes from her Polish father, who co-founded Belvedere & Chopin Vodkas.
