Distillery Information

El Tesoro is produced at the La Alteña distillery in the highland town of Arandas. La Alteña was founded in 1937 and in many ways has shaped the progression to premium Tequilas as they exist today.
El Tesoro is known as "the Treasure of Jalisco”, crafted in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico for generations. There is magic in the soil at La Alteña distillery, our home where a community of skilled artisans use traditional methods of tequila-making to create a true treasure. A tequila with soul in every sip.
La Alteña distillery was created in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena. He was a visionary man who saw the potential to make a great tequila, up here, in the mineral-rich highlands of Jalisco. Today his grandson, Carlos Camarena, is our Master Distiller.
For three generations and counting, the Coronado family has distilled our tequila. Taking precise measurements, they double distill to proof, so we never have to water down the agave flavor. Finally, with attention to the finest detail, each bottle of El Tesoro is labeled by hand.
Añejo refers to tequila that has been aged in oak barrels anywhere from one to three years. PATRÓN AÑEJO is carefully distilled and then aged for over 12 months in a combination of French oak, Hungarian oak and used American whiskey barrels to create our ultra-premium tequila.
