Embark on a journey into the heart of mezcal tradition with Del Maguey Vida de Muertos Mezcal Tequila. Crafted in the remote villages of Oaxaca, Mexico, this artisanal spirit pays homage to the vibrant culture and rich heritage of Day of the Dead celebrations.

At the core of Del Maguey Vida de Muertos Mezcal is the espadín agave, sustainably sourced and hand-harvested by local mezcaleros. These precious agaves are roasted in earthen pit ovens over hot volcanic rocks, imbuing the mezcal with a distinct smoky flavor. After fermentation with wild yeasts and double distillation in traditional copper pot stills, the mezcal is bottled at its peak, capturing the essence of Oaxacan mezcal craftsmanship.

Upon pouring, the mezcal reveals a golden hue, reminiscent of the warm colors of a Mexican sunset. The aroma is a tantalizing blend of roasted agave, earthy spices, and hints of citrus zest. On the palate, expect a harmonious interplay of flavors, with notes of caramelized sugar, ripe fruit, and a subtle smokiness that lingers delicately.

Del Maguey Vida de Muertos Mezcal Tequila is best enjoyed neat, allowing you to fully appreciate its depth and complexity. Alternatively, use it to craft mezcal cocktails that celebrate the spirit of Day of the Dead, adding a touch of authenticity and intrigue to your festivities.

Del Maguey Las Milpas is produced by Anastacio Cruz Antonio and his sons Rigoberto, Abel and Pedro in the remote village of Las Milpas. The village is located high above San Dionisio Ocotopec in Oaxaca. The palenque is nestled among the cornfields and overlooks rolling pastures.
Each of Del Maguey's single-village mezcals is made by individual family producers in remote villages in Oaxaca and Pueblo using 400-year-old Zapotec methods.
The distinctive, vibrantly coloured artworks that adorns Del Maguey labels are by Kenneth Price (16/Feb/1935 – 24/Feb/12), an artist famous for his abstract fired clay shapes intricately painted with multiple layers brightly coloured paints.
Introduced in 2010, Del Maguey's mezcal 'Vida' is a single-village, organic mezcal made from Espadín agaves. Agave comes from the village of San Luis del Rio in Oaxaca; they're roasted for 3-8 days, followed by an 8-10 day wild fermentation. Distilled twice in wood-fired copper stills.
Ron Cooper founded Del Maguey in 1995, at least a decade before the beginning of the Mezcal Renaissance we are living in now.
