David Nicholson Reserve Whiskey unfolds a rich tapestry of flavors from the first sip. The nose is greeted with enticing aromas of caramel and toasted oak, foreshadowing the depth within. On the palate, a symphony of vanilla, dark fruit, and a subtle hint of spice emerges, creating a complex and well-rounded profile. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a warm, lingering impression that invites contemplation.

The story as it's told is that David Nicholson was a grocer who started to distill his own whiskey in 1843, but as Chuck points out it it's far more likely he was a blender than a distiller. The signature whiskey, David Nicholson 1843, was around before prohibition and after prohibition it was made by Stitzel-Weller.
The Van Winkles owned the brand until 2000 when Luxco acquired it. Still possessing the outstanding character for which it earned its original popularity in 1843, the David Nicholson legacy lives on unchanged, unfettered, and unmatched.
2 The Dock Man (750ml) The Canadian Club Chronicles Issue 2 is a 42-year-old whisky called The Dock Man. The whisky pays homage to the Hiram Walker distillery dock workers that tirelessly loaded freighters with crates of Canadian Club during American Prohibition and shipped them to Detroit.
Half a century his recipe had been passed down for generations. Eventually, the legendary Julian “Pappy” Van Winkle and W.L. Weller handcrafted Nicholson's iconic “43” bourbon at the Stitzel distillery. The Van Winkles owned the brand until 2000 when it was acquired by Luxco.
David Nicholson is made by Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown – the Bourbon Capital of the World. The almost 1700m2 distillery is named after the very remarkable row of trees that can be found on the grounds.
Winner of Double Gold at the SF Spirits Competition, 1843 is a classic-styled “wheater” in the vein of the most sought after whiskeys in the world. With subtle characteristics that allow the grain to shine, you'll find hints of caramel corn, Manuka honey, oak spice, and vanilla.
