Cazcanes starts as our award winning Blanco that is rested in American White Oak Ex-Bourbon barrels for up to 11 months.
Their recent momentum and success can be attributed to Collin Edward, one of Cazcanes' owners, whose winemaking background gave them an advantage in the industry in my opinion.In a move to take ownership of the term “tequila,” the Mexican government declared the term as its intellectual property in 1974.Normally tequila is bottled at 40%, but legally can be bottled as high as 55%. The ABV is kept within this range by diluting it with water. On trend is still strength tequilas which are bottled at or near the proof coming off the still.
Blanco or white tequila is often seen as primarily for use as an alcoholic base for some of the most popular tequila based cocktail recipes, including the margarita and Paloma.
