Distillery Information

This premium Tequila is produced at the Casa Maestri distillery In Tequila Town, Jalisco and is delicious to sip on its own or in short cocktails.
Tequila añejo is aged 1 to 4 years in oak barrels (añejo means “old” or “vintage” in Spanish). It tastes richer, with notes of vanilla and cinnamon. Añejo shines when drunk straight and on the rocks, so you can taste the nuances of its character. Tequila aged over 3 years may be labeled “Extra añejo.Most Tequilas come from the state of Jalisco, where the actual town of Tequila, Mexico resides. For starters, in order for a spirit to be called “Tequila” it MUST come from one of five authorized states in Mexico: Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacan, Nayarit, or Tamaulipas.A drink similar to tequila likely originated around 1000 B.C. among the Olmec people in what is now Southeastern Mexico. This is known as pulque and is made from agave, the same plant that is used to distill as the liquor we know today.
Añejo tequila is known as the premium sipping tequila. Aged in oak barrels the longest, generally from one to three years, it is known for its deep golden hue. Añejo showcases not only the flavor of agave, but takes the flavor profile to a whole new level.
