Distillery Information

Anthocyanin is present in many other fruits, including plums, blueberries, and cherries. You can also observe it in flowers (like orchids, hydrangeas, etc.). The pigment in red wine comes from the skins of grapes. By soaking the skins in the juice, anthocyanin is released and it literally stains the wine.
The phrase “red blend” refers to red wines that are made from different types of grapes blended together, rather than a wine made from just one single type of grape. Red blends are produced all over the world from an array of grape varieties.A purple or magenta tint indicates it's a very young wine, such as Beaujolais Nouveau (Gamay), which is very fresh, fruity and perhaps floral. Another common hue in red wines is ruby, which is also a sign of a younger wine, but often with more intense red and black fruit flavours with a touch of spice. It is produced by concentrating the teinturier grape Rubired, a cross between Alicante Ganzin and Tinta Cão, has 68% sugar and sells for approximately $135 a gallon. Mega Purple has raised some controversy within the wine consuming community as its use is considered to be akin to adulterating a wine.
Sourced from the pristine Margaret River and Great Southern growing regions of Western Australia, this blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc is enhanced with natural antioxidants to minimise the use of sulphites and to create a unique purple colour and vibrancy.Red Blends are drastically different region-to-region, but some of the most popular types include Red Bordeaux Blends & Rhone Blends from France, Super Tuscan & Chianti from Italy, & Rioja from Spain.
