The Tullamore Distillery is an Irish whiskey distillery located in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland. Built by William Grant & Sons at a cost of €35 million, the distillery officially opened in September 2014.At Tullamore D.E.W. we have a long history with many stories to tell because our distillery was first established in 1829. Our whiskey is the result of a family that showed incredible vision and commitment to develop their passion for whiskey.
It begins with three natural ingredients: water, grain, yeast, three varieties of distillate: golden grain, pot still, and rich malt, triple distilled, and three types of maturation casks: traditional, ex-bourbon, and sherry making it the world's only triple distilled, triple blend, triple matured Irish Whiskey.

the creator of Tullamore D.E.W. A self-made man who worked his way up from a stable boy of the distillery to become the owner: he brought electricity, and motorised automobiles to Tullamore and created a whiskey so distinctive and character-filled, it could only be stamped with his initials D.E.W.
Tullamore was part of the first English plantation of Offaly in the 1570s. In 1785 the town was seriously damaged when the crash of a hot air balloon resulted in a fire that burned down about 100 houses giving the town the unusual distinction of being home to the world's first aviation disaster.
