Royal Lochnagar 1981 Prima & Ultima Third Release

Appearance: Deep gold with copper lights. Fine and lingering beading, multiple long legs. Body: Medium. Nose: A mellow nose with light prickle. Aromas of honeysuckle, rose and bramble. Palate: A smooth, creamy and mouth- filling texture, and a sweet overall taste, very slightly waxy, with an intensely oaky and spicy start. Things soon become elegantly drying, with a real and growing warmth. Finish: Long, warming and spicy with an intense, spicy warmth spreading across the palate

Prima is a girl's name of Latin origin meaning “first.” It's also believed to have roots in Ancient Greece, where first-born daughters were often given the name thanks to its meaning. Prima can be associated with qualities such as leadership, innovation, and excellence, inspiring baby to aim for the top.In 1845, John Begg founded and built the "new" Lochnagar distillery which is the basis of the distillery in operation today. The distillery was awarded its Royal Warrant in 1848 when John Begg invited Prince Albert to visit the distillery from the nearby Balmoral Castle, the Queen's residence in the Highlands.

Bushmills is home to the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery with official records dating back to 1608, when the area was granted its license to distil. Over 400 years later, whiskey is still being made in Bushmills, thanks to experience and craft passed down from generation to generation.
