The distillery is owned by The Glenmorangie Company Ltd (a subsidiary of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), whose main product is the range of Glenmorangie single malt whisky. Glenmorangie is categorised as a Highland distillery and boasts the tallest stills in Scotland.
Glenmorangie was founded in 1843, although operation didn't start until 1849.
The Glenmorangie Company is one of the prestigious companies owned by Moët Hennessy-Louis Vuitton (LVMH). It is home to Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky and Ardbeg Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, two of the world's most respected whisky brands.The process at Glenmorangie starts with mashing unpeated barley with water from the distillery's Tarlogie Springs – making this one of a small number of hard water sites in Scotland.
The same height as a giraffe, our stills allow more space for taste and aroma, which is why Glenmorangie's spirit is so wonderfully delicate and fruity.
Glenmorangie means 'valley of tranquillity' in Scots Gaelic. I'm sure most of you have heard of Glenmorangie already, considering it has been the best selling single malt in Scotland, almost continuously, since 1983. The distillery produces around a whopping 10 million bottles per annum.
