Distillery Information

Dry Creek Valley is a premium winegrowing region in northern Sonoma County, California where more than 150 winegrowers and 70 wineries produce wines of excellence from a wide variety of grapes, including the world-class zinfandel for which we are best known.Cabernet sauvignon is the most popular red wine in the world. Though it originated in France, cabernet is now produced in virtually every major winemaking region on the globe, from Chile to California, Washington State, and western Australia. Is Cabernet Sauvignon Dry or Sweet? This wine variety is dry. Cabernet sauvignon is one of the driest wines sold, especially among red wines. This dryness comes from a lack of sugar because winemakers who ferment cabernet sauvignon allow the yeast to consume all the sugar, leaving the wine with its signature dry taste.A force driven in the 1970s and '80s by founder Dave Stare, Dry Creek Vineyard has been reinvigorated by his daughter Kim Stare Wallace, who brought a renewed focus in both the vineyards and winery.
Best known for its robust Zinfandel wines, this rural wine region is located in north-central Sonoma County, just outside the city of Healdsburg, and a short drive south from small town Cloverdale. The valley itself is bookended by the Russian River and the Lake Sonoma Recreation Area.
According to the Wines Vines Analytics Winery Database, the United States is now home to 11,691 wineries, which is nearly 400 more than in 2021 and 1,215 more than in 2020. Since 2019, the number of U.S. wineries has grown at a rate of 4 percent, which matches the growth rate since 2010.
