Embark on a journey through the rich traditions of Oaxacan mezcal with Del Maguey Mezcal Single Village Santo Domingo Albarradas Tequila. Crafted in the historic village of Santo Domingo Albarradas, this artisanal mezcal embodies the essence of its terroir and the centuries-old techniques of its mezcaleros.

The journey begins with hand-harvested agave hearts, known as piñas, which are carefully selected from the rugged hillsides of Santo Domingo Albarradas. These piñas undergo slow-roasting in earthen pit ovens, a process that infuses them with a depth of flavor unique to the region. After crushing and fermentation, the mash is double distilled in copper pot stills, allowing the rich flavors of the agave to shine through. The mezcal is then bottled at its peak, preserving the true spirit of the village and its mezcaleros.

Del Maguey Mezcal Single Village Santo Domingo Albarradas Tequila offers a complex and nuanced flavor profile that reflects the character of its terroir. On the palate, expect a harmonious blend of earthy agave, hints of tropical fruit, and a subtle smokiness that lingers on the finish. Each sip is a tribute to the craftsmanship and heritage of Oaxacan mezcal production.

Savor this mezcal neat to fully appreciate its complexity or use it to craft mezcal-forward cocktails that showcase its unique character. From classic recipes to innovative concoctions, Del Maguey Mezcal Single Village Santo Domingo Albarradas Tequila adds a touch of authenticity and sophistication to any drink.

Elevate your mezcal experience with Del Maguey Mezcal Single Village Santo Domingo Albarradas Tequila. With its rich flavors and artisanal craftsmanship, it offers a taste of the authentic spirit of Oaxaca. Cheers to the spirit of tradition and the artistry of mezcal production.

Distillery Information

Del Maguey Las Milpas is produced by Anastacio Cruz Antonio and his sons Rigoberto, Abel and Pedro in the remote village of Las Milpas. The village is located high above San Dionisio Ocotopec in Oaxaca. The palenque is nestled among the cornfields and overlooks rolling pastures.
Each of Del Maguey's single-village mezcals is made by individual family producers in remote villages in Oaxaca and Pueblo using 400-year-old Zapotec methods.
The distinctive, vibrantly coloured artworks that adorns Del Maguey labels are by Kenneth Price (16/Feb/1935 – 24/Feb/12), an artist famous for his abstract fired clay shapes intricately painted with multiple layers brightly coloured paints.
Introduced in 2010, Del Maguey's mezcal 'Vida' is a single-village, organic mezcal made from Espadín agaves. Agave comes from the village of San Luis del Rio in Oaxaca; they're roasted for 3-8 days, followed by an 8-10 day wild fermentation. Distilled twice in wood-fired copper stills.
Ron Cooper founded Del Maguey in 1995, at least a decade before the beginning of the Mezcal Renaissance we are living in now.
