The Bardstown Bourbon Collaborative Series Goose Island Cask Strength Bourbon is a limited release that brings together the craftsmanship of Bardstown Bourbon Company and the innovative spirit of Goose Island Brewery. This unique bourbon features a bespoke blend of 6 and 7-year-old Kentucky bourbon, aged an additional 12 months in freshly emptied Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout barrels. The stout-soaked staves of these barrels immediately mingle with the bourbon once filled, creating a rich and complex flavor profile. To complete the blend, a beautiful 9-year-old Kentucky bourbon is added, resulting in an expression bursting with chocolate malt and dried cherries.
Color: Rich mahogany with hints of amber, reflecting the bourbon's depth and complexity. Nose: Dark chocolate, honey, toasted almond, and vanilla cream create an enveloping, decadent aroma. Subtle notes of dried cherries and oak add depth to the bouquet. Palate: The first sip reveals a full-bodied and velvety texture. Roasted malt, cacao, and allspice lead the palate, followed by layers of chocolate malt, dried cherries, and vanilla. The flavor profile is rich, complex, and exquisitely balanced. Finish: The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering echoes of dark chocolate and toasted oak. A touch of sweetness from the dried cherries lingers on the palate, leaving a lasting impression of indulgence.
