Distillery Information

Yellowstone Bourbon was originally launched in 1872 to honor the establishment of our country's first National Park, Yellowstone, and the pioneering spirit that led to its inception. The distillery was started by J. B. Dant (son of J.W. Dant) who teamed up with D. H. Taylor and J. T.
Yellowstone Select Bourbon is a delicate fusion from the seventh-generation distillers behind Limestone Branch Distillery. Handpicked four and seven-year-old bourbons are blended together to create Yellowstone Bourbon, an old-fashioned whiskey honoring old family traditions.
Today, Yellowstone is owned and produced by Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, KY, distilled by 7th generation distillers - and brothers - Stephen and Paul Beam. It's common knowledge that you can't throw a rock in Kentucky without hitting a Beam family member. The Yellowstone brand of bourbon was introduced in 1872 by the J. B. Dant Distillery in Gethsemani, Kentucky. The Glenmore Distillery Company of Owensboro, Kentucky, bought the brand in 1944. In 1920, Yellowstone Bourbon was bottled for "medicinal purposes only" during Prohibition.
The current owner, Luxco, sources the bourbon from other distilleries in Kentucky; however, Luxco recently took a 50% stake in the Limestone Branch Distillery, run by Steve and Paul Beam.
Characters including John and Beth Dutton previously had been Bulleit Bourbon drinkers. Now they've switched to Buffalo Trace and Weller, which is made by the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort.
