The London No 1 Original Blue Gin

1 Original Blue Gin. This turquoise-blue gin, marketed as "The Original Blue Gin" was originally named 'The London Gin' in deference to its being distilled at London's Thames Distillery.
The Original Blue Gin, The London No. 1 gin gets its unique blue colour from the gardenia flower, a small, white petaled houseplant favoured by Queen Victoria in the 1800s.
London dry gin is made from a base spirit, which is normally made from fermented and distilled wheat or barley but could also be made from grape or potato. The base spirit is flavoured with juniper (the key ingredient to any gin) and a mixture of other plants, herbs, fruits, nuts, spices and roots.
London No 1 is the original blue gin, conceived by two masters of the industry: Charles Maxwell and Martin Gill. Years ahead of their time they recognised that colour and flavour in gin elevates the experience.
