This remarkable Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been aged for 40 years, expertly crafted by The Glenlivet’s cask specialists and bottled at a cask strength of 46.9%. Under the careful guidance of The Glenlivet’s Cask Master, Kevin Balmforth, this new permanent release was finished in custom casks infused with a unique blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherries from Spain’s Jerez region. The combination of this special cask finish and extensive aging imparts a deep complexity, offering a rich flavor profile with notes of poached plums, charred orange, dark cherries, warming spice, and braised red apples, culminating in a smooth, sweet finish.
Full-bodied and fruity, with hints of homemade strawberry jam and raisins. The luscious dark cherries are balanced by cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of sweet, toasted oak. Sweet layers of poached plums and charred orange lead to even richer flavors of dark chocolate, braised red apples, and sweet licorice. A long, sweet finish with a touch of warming spice.
