Exhibiting hues ranging from burnt sienna to deep mahogany, it presents a diverse array of aromas reminiscent of apple strudel, gingerbread cake adorned with white icing, potpourri, traditional New England apple molasses (reduced cider syrup), Persian black tea accompanied by sugar cubes, and roasted chestnuts. True to its olfactory promises, the palate experience unfolds with additional nuances of poached pears steeped in ruby red Port, star anise, apple blossom honey, cinnamon-infused brown butter, roasted coffee beans, dried apricots, brandied cherries, candied walnuts, and aged balsamic vinegar. Joseph Magnus Bourbon marries 12-year-old bourbon sourced from MGP in Indiana with a triple-cask finishing process spanning months in Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximenez sherry, and Cognac casks at the Jos. A. Magnus & Co. distillery in Washington, D.C. Mastering the craft of bourbon finishing and blending across these three casks infuses the spirit with distinctive characteristics.
