Maturation has a massive effect on the final taste of the whisky. Ageing spirit in oak barrels will add new flavour compounds, like vanillin (vanilla), cyclotene (caramel/maple) and eugenol (clove).

The Motörhead approved bourbon is produced and bottled by award-winning small-batch distillery, Proof Artisan Distillers in Fargo, North Dakota.A distillery makes hard alcohol like whiskey, gin, vodka, rum, etc. The process of making distilled spirits starts off much of the same as making beer. Different grains are used, including barley, corn, rye, and wheat and all result in a different flavor or kind of whiskey. Whiskeys are also aged in wooden casks, which are sometimes new or sometimes used casks from other alcohol aging.Entrepreneur Raj Bhakta founded the WhistlePig brand of rye whiskey. The name allegedly stems from Bhakta passing a hiker in Colorado in 2003, who told him to watch out for a whistle pig (groundhog).
