The Longrow Red series presents a limited annual release of cask strength whiskies, each uniquely matured in different types of red wine casks. This particular expression, aged for 11 years, spent seven years in Bourbon casks before being transferred to Tawny Port casks for an additional four years. The result is a harmonious fusion of sweet, fruity influences from the Tawny Port casks and smoky notes characteristic of Longrow whisky. Packaged in a 700ml bottle, Longrow Red 11 Year Tawny Port Cask offers whisky enthusiasts a rare and captivating tasting experience.
Nose: The nose offers a complex interplay of aromas, beginning with dirty oiliness and metallic notes, followed by contradictory sweetness. Notes of red fruits, honey glaze, and brandy baskets emerge, balanced by smoky hints of barbecued meats. Palate: Upon tasting, the whisky presents a surprising combination of flavors, with sweet, fruity notes dominating alongside smoky undertones.
