Joe Benziger founded Imagery in the early 1980's to follow his curiosity (and great taste), crafting wines that didn't fit into any conventional mold.
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were created because of an accidental cross breeding of a Cabernet Franc grape and a Sauvignon Blanc grape in 17th century France. The resulting in a small red grape is extremely resistant to the elements due to its thicker more durable skin.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a soft, smooth wine with well integrated oak. Flavors of dark fruit like blackberry are met with earthy notes such as tobacco, toast and tea in the mid-palate. Layers of rich notes of spice, clove and pepper complete the wine.
Cabernet sauvignon is a full-bodied, acidic wine made from the international red wine grape variety of the same name. It has strong tannins that mellow with age. Cabernet sauvignon wines are high in alcohol, usually in the 13–14 percent range.Imagery is rooted in three decades of Sonoma Valley winemaking by the Benziger family. The line of Imagery wines celebrates traditional varietals enhanced with something a little outside the box.
