Born in Denmark in 1989, Fris Vodka (pronounced "Freeze") was invented at Denmark's historic Aalborg Distillery, one of the oldest in Scandinavia. It is produced from all-natural whole grain and artesian water from deep wells in Northern Denmark, Fris Vodka is distinguished by a superior smoothness and velvety taste.
Traditionally, it is made by distilling liquid from fermented cereal grains, and potatoes since introduced in Europe in the 1700s. Some modern brands use corn, sugar cane, fruits, honey, and maple sap as the base.
