Appearance: El Dorado Demerara Rum Special Reserve 21 Year exhibits a deep, lustrous mahogany hue, hinting at its extensive aging process and rich character. Nose: Upon nosing, the aroma is opulent and inviting, with pronounced notes of caramel, toffee, and vanilla wafting from the glass. Subtle hints of dried fruits, such as figs and dates, mingle with nuances of oak spice and warm baking spices, creating a complex and alluring bouquet. Palate: The palate is treated to a symphony of flavors. Luxuriously smooth caramel and toffee flavors dominate, accompanied by layers of dark chocolate, espresso, and toasted oak. Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.
