Bomberger's Distillery, more recently Michter's Distillery, is a non-operating distillery facility that was, at the end of the twentieth century, believed to be the oldest remaining such building in the United States.
Bomberger's Declaration Straight Bourbon 2023 Release (750ml) This 2023 release continues the Bomberger's tradition of offering bold and beautiful 108 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon with a rich and layered complexity due to a portion of the bourbon being aged in Chinquapin (Quercus muehlenbergii) oak.
It's produced by Michter's. They don't declare the age and mash bill, but it's likely above ten years old. There are multiple batches released simultaneously, once per year, and each batch is made up of around 1000-3000 bottles, so that's roughly equivalent to Michter's own label releases.
The complex, located near Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania, represented the transformation of whiskey distilleries from a farm to large-scale industry. The surviving still house, warehouse, and pitcher house dates from about 1840, but the site has a documented history of the spirit of production since 1753.
Maker's Mark is a small-batch bourbon whiskey produced in Loretto, Kentucky, by Beam Suntory. It is bottled at 90 U.S. proof (45% alcohol by volume) and sold in squarish bottles sealed with red wax. The distillery offers tours, and is part of the American Whiskey Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
