Named after Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, who served as the distillery’s director from 1921 to 1953, this single barrel bourbon has been crafted from barrels aged exclusively in Warehouse H, which is known for its extreme exposure to seasonal temperature fluctuations. This aging process imparts unique flavors that cannot be replicated in any other warehouse.
Bottled at cask strength, this "straight from the barrel" expression presents a complex and vibrant flavor profile. While corn remains the dominant grain, the bourbon allows for the harmonious presence of malted barley and rye, adding depth and richness. The most remarkable aspect of this release is its fruit-forward profile, which beautifully balances the grain notes with a variety of fruity flavors, offering a wonderfully diverse and intricate tasting experience.
Nose: Opens with a sweet aroma of corn and caramel, complemented by the grains of rye and malted barley, with a subtle hint of oak. Palate: The rich flavor of corn is enhanced by layers of fruit—think red apples and stone fruits—while spices and a touch of vanilla provide balance and depth.
