All four expressions in the Tequila Ocho Full Lineup are crafted at the legendary La Alteña Distillery, located in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Founded in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena, La Alteña has remained family-run for generations and is celebrated worldwide for its artisanal tequila-making methods.

Master Distiller Carlos Camarena, one of Mexico’s most respected tequila producers, leads the production of Tequila Ocho. Created in collaboration with the late Tom Estes, “the Godfather of Tequila” in Europe, Ocho was the first tequila brand to spotlight terroir and vintage, treating tequila with the same agricultural and seasonal respect as fine wine.

Each bottle is made from 100% blue Weber agave, harvested at full maturity from single estates (known as ranchos) in the Los Altos (highlands) region. The agaves are slow-cooked in traditional brick ovens, crushed by roller mills, fermented with natural yeast, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. Minimal intervention allows the pure character of the agave and the unique soil of each field to shine through.

The result is a lineup that offers a true journey through tequila—from the crisp, fresh vibrancy of Plata to the deep complexity of Extra Añejo—while staying true to Ocho’s guiding principles of authenticity, transparency, and terroir expression.
