Muff Irish potato gin is an awarding winning Irish Gin. It's named after the town of Muff on the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal and is made from four different types of potatoes. Some of the botanicals are mandarin, rosemary, lemon, elderflower with a little champagne extract for a distinctive taste.Gin must be a neutral spirit distilled from something natural like wheat, barley, potatoes or grapes. The flavours of a gin come from its botanicals (that's the herbs, seeds, flowers, plants or spices added during production), and, crucially, all gins must contain juniper.
The 'gin' designation specifies a juniper-flavoured spirit of 40% ABV or more (as opposed to 37.5%). It doesn't specify that only neutral alcohol can be used as the base spirit meaning that more strongly-flavoured spirits can be used. 'Distilled gin' in America means that the flavours have come only from distillation.
The “heart” gin is separated from the rest of the resulting liquid and diluted with water to reach the right ABV before finally being bottled and sold. What are the methods of gin distillation? The different methods include steeping, vapor infusing, vacuum distillation, and aging.
