Today, in its fourth generation of family ownership, the distillery and vineyards are composed within an estate of more than 60 acres in the heart of one of the most exclusive growing areas of Cognac: The Borderies.
Cognac's origins lie in the 16th century with the arrival in France of the Dutch. They bought plenty of French wine but struggled to keep their wine drinkable during its journey home, and thus began distilling it into eau-de-vie.Without a doubt, the names that are most heard of on a global scale are Hennessy, Remy Martin, Courvoisier, and Martell.
