Embark on a sensory journey through the captivating flavors of the Scottish isles with Lagavulin 8 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This limited edition 96 proof whisky delivers an intense, full-bodied experience with notes of charred, minty dark chocolate that leave a lasting impression. The palate unfolds into a clean, long finish, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of Lagavulin.

Distilled in Lagavulin, Scotland, on the picturesque coast of Islay, our whisky reflects centuries of local distilling tradition, resulting in a truly unique expression. The aging process in oak casks imparts an extraordinary and classic smoky flavor that demands to be savored in a whisky nosing glass, either neat or with a touch of water.

Honoring a 200-year-old tradition of distilling excellence, Lagavulin stands as one of the oldest distilleries on Islay. Established in 1816 by farmer John Johnston and later guided by Peter Mackies in 1887, Lagavulin has become synonymous with the delicacy of Islay malts. The vast peat bogs in the west of the island provide the raw material, infusing the barley with our iconic smoky essence. The rich, peaty water flowing from the Solan Lochs into the distillery further contributes to the distinctiveness of our flavors.

At Lagavulin, patience is our finest virtue, and we believe in taking the time needed to craft exceptional whisky. Rushing the process is not our way in Islay. Please enjoy Lagavulin responsibly.

Distillery Information

Lagavulin 8 Year is a single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Lagavulin distillery. The distillery is located in the village of Lagavulin, on the southern part of Islay, Scotland.
The whisky was released in 2016 to celebrate the distillery's 200th anniversary. It's a nod to the style of whisky that Lagavulin may have been producing in the 1880s. The age statement was chosen because in 1886, distillery chronicler Alfred Barnard mentioned an "exceptionally fine" 8-year-old whisky.
The whisky is aged for eight years in American oak and European oak casks. It's non-chill filtered and bottled at 48% ABV.
The whisky is big and smoky, with a palate of smoky peat, coriander seed, barley sugar, cumin powder, smoked kipper, and marzipan. The finish has layers of apple crumble, toasted almond, and ash.
