Distillery Information

Old Grand-Dad is a brand of bourbon whiskey distilled at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. The brand was created by Raymond B. Hayden and named after his grandfather Meredith Basil Hayden Sr., who was a well known distiller during his lifetime.
First bottled in 1882, very little has changed about it.
Most distillers put bourbon through distillation twice. In the first step, the bourbon goes through column stills. The second round distills it through attached, heated copper pot stills. These bourbon distillation rounds boost the alcohol content of the liquid and remove the mash and other impurities.Ninety-five percent of the world's bourbon is produced in Kentucky, and if you're wondering if there's something in the water, there is. On its way to becoming bourbon, Kentucky's water flows through limestone reserves – the same mineral said to make our horses grow stronger.
Old Grand Dad Bonded is part of an Old Grand Dad brand that was launched by Raymond Haden in the 1840's and named for his grandfather Basil Hayden. The Haden's distilling days reach back to the 1790's after the family moved from Maryland to Kentucky. Today, the brand resides with Beam-Suntory.
