Distillery Information

Jim Beam is an American brand of bourbon whiskey produced in Clermont, Kentucky, by Beam Suntory. It is one of the best-selling brands of bourbon in the world. Since 1795 (interrupted by Prohibition), seven generations of the Beam family have been involved in whiskey production for the company that produces the brand.
Jim Beam Double Oak is first aged in a newly charred American White Oak barrels. Then, we pour it into another freshly charred white oak barrel to mature for a second time. The added interaction with the oak results in a liquid intense in flavor and smooth in taste.
Jim Beam Double Oak starts life as Jim Beam white. After selecting and dumping a bunch of 4-year-old barrels they take that bourbon and put it back into brand new charred oak barrels for a second round of aging. The second round of aging has no defined time requirement / amount and lasts until it tastes right. The two Jim Beam distilleries produce the best selling Bourbon in the world. But besides its mass products they also have different high class products in its range.
Despite the confusing name, double-barrel whiskey isn't just the doubled version of a single-barrel whiskey. Instead, as the pros over at The Bourbon Review explain, double-barrel whiskey is a whiskey that's been aged in one barrel before being transferred to another for an additional aging period.
