Introducing Blackened American Whiskey – a unique and bold spirit that transcends the boundaries of tradition, pushing the envelope of whiskey craftsmanship. This one-of-a-kind blend is the result of an innovative collaboration between master distiller Dave Pickerell and the legendary rock band Metallica, bringing together the art of whiskey-making and the power of music.

Sonic Maturation: What sets Blackened apart is its unconventional maturation process, aptly named "Sonic Maturation." During aging, the whiskey barrels are exposed to a curated playlist of Metallica's music, as low-frequency sound waves enhance the interaction between the spirit and the wood. This unique approach imparts an extra layer of depth and intensity to the final product.

Craftsmanship: Blackened is a testament to the expertise of its creators. Distilled in small batches, the whiskey undergoes a meticulous blending process, ensuring that each bottle reflects the desired flavor profile. The result is a bold and expressive spirit that pays homage to the rebellious spirit of both whiskey and rock 'n' roll.

Packaging: Housed in a sleek, black bottle adorned with Metallica's iconic logo, Blackened American Whiskey stands out on any shelf. The packaging reflects the edgy and unconventional nature of the whiskey within, inviting enthusiasts to embark on a sensory journey like no other.

Collectible Limited Editions: In addition to its standard expression, Blackened American Whiskey often releases limited-edition batches, each with its own unique character. These collectible releases appeal to both whiskey connoisseurs and avid Metallica fans, creating a sought-after blend of artistry and craftsmanship.

Unleash the Darkness: Blackened American Whiskey invites you to embrace the unconventional, to savor the fusion of music and whiskey that defines this extraordinary spirit. Whether enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail, Blackened promises an experience that transcends the ordinary, leaving a lasting impression on the palate and the soul.

By law, Bourbon Whiskey must be made from at least 51% corn, which gives it its typically sweet taste. The remaining grains used are rye, which is very spicy, mild wheat and barley, which is essential for the fermentation process. American Whiskey is mainly distilled in column stills.
Distillery Fungus & Health What is Distillery Fungus? Distillery fungus also known as Whiskey fungus, Rum fungus, and Warehouse Staining fungus is a black fungus known as Baudoinia compniacensis. While it is black in color, this is not Stachybotrys, often referred to as black mold.
The black staining common at some distilleries is not caused by soot but by a sooty mould named Baudoinia compniacensis, also known as the Whisky Fungus. Rickhouses / warehouses will likely see the most significant accumulation of Baudoinia as they are the primary source of ethanol vapour release at a distillery.
