Distillery Information

Crystal Head Vodka is a brand of vodkas manufactured by Globefill Inc. in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It was conceived and founded by actor Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander in September 2008. The vodkas are quadruple-distilled, filtered seven times and packaged in a Crystal Skull bottle.
It is distilled four times into a neutral grain spirit and blended with pristine water from Newfoundland, Canada. The vodka is filtered seven times, of which three are through layers of semi-precious crystals known as Herkimer diamonds.
Crystal Head is produced in St. John's, Newfoundland—an island located off the Canadian coast, at one of the last government owned distilleries in the world. It is there that the raw spirit is reduced with Newfoundland glacial water to 40% alcohol by volume.
The makers of Crystal Head vodka deal only in superlatives. By which we mean, only the best and highest quality ingredients and materials are used at every stage of the process. Crystal Head vodka begins with the highest quality peaches and cream corn. This is distilled four times to produce a neutral grain spirit.
Vodka goes through a column distillation process. This concept arrived in the 19th century when commercial distillers needed a faster method than pot distilling, which required cleaning after every batch. Column distilling involves large columns where mash/wash is constantly injected, and the steam rises to meet it.
