The distillery was founded in 1826 on the site of the Boynsmill Estate and the historic Boynsmill House – dating back to 1771 and later renamed Glen House – is still standing proud today. Our malt mill, glistening copper mash tun, and traditional wooden washbacks form part of a vigorous but carefully attended process.
Glendronach distillery is a Scottish whisky distillery located near Forgue, by Huntly, Aberdeenshire, in the Highland whisky district. It was owned by the BenRiach Distillery Company Ltd.
The Glendronach distillery was founded by James Allardice (also spelt Allardyce and Allardes) in 1826 and quickly became famous amoung the London aristocracy. Sadly tragedy struck in 1837 and the distillery was all but destroyed by fire but was immediately rebuilt.Glendronach was purchased by Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey producer Brown-Forman in 2016 along with its acquisition of The BenRiach Distillery Company.
The Glenfiddich distillery produce the Glenfiddich whisky in Dufftown, Moray. Glenfiddich is a single malt Scotch whisky, this means the whisky was distilled at a single distillery using a pot still distillation process and must be made from a mash of malted barley.
