Distillery Information

In 1990, third-generation winemaker Jean Bousquet, took a trip to Argentina and fell in love with the Gualtallary Valley; a scenic, remote, arid terrain high in the Tupungato district of the Uco Valley in Argentina's Mendoza region, close to the border with Chile. The location is ideal for organic viticulture.Named after Domaine Bousquet co-owner Labid al Ameri, Domaine Bousquet's flagship wine is a Malbec-dominant blend. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot add the complex dimensions that elevate this wine from “expected” to “exciting.”
But typically, Chardonnay is a dry, medium- to full-bodied wine with moderate acidity and alcohol. Its flavors range from apple and lemon to papaya and pineapple, and it also shows notes of vanilla when it's aged with oak.May In 2005, Al Ameri joined his father-in-law full time, helping with the construction of the winery. Anne continued her work as an economist, before joining the company in 2008. In 2009, the couple moved to Tupungato full-time, assuming full ownership of Domaine Bousquet in 2011.
With complete respect for Mother Nature, the Bousquet Family cultivates 240 hectares of land with an extensive range of organic grapes. Their wines are cultivated from top-quality Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Torrontés, and Pinot Gris, combined with fruity Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, and Malbec.
Malolactic fermentation isn't an alcohol fermentation but an acid conversion carried out by a little bacteria. The bacteria eats malic acid found in the wine and poops out lactic acid. The result is a really creamy, smooth, and buttery tasting wine. If this makes you think of Chardonnay, you're exactly right.
