Distillery Information

D'Ussé is a brand of cognac made at the Château du Cognac in Cognac, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. It is a subsidiary of Bacardi. D'Ussé produces just two cognacs: D'USSÉ VSOP and D'USSÉ XO. D'Ussé VSOP is aged at least four and a half years in the Château de Cognac cellars.
D'USSÉ Cognac is masterfully crafted at the prestigious Château de Cognac, one of the oldest cognac houses in France. It has a 200-year legacy in blending some of the world's finest spirits.
Bacardi now owns at least 75.01% of the brand, Shawn Carter, known professionally as Jay-Z, retains a “significant ownership stake.” D'Ussé is a multi-billion dollar brand, according to a release announcing the deal.The symbol on the bottle is the Cross of Lorraine, a French emblem that symbolizes courage, honor and perseverance. It is made at Château de Cognac, one of the oldest cognac houses in France. . The drink has been embraced by rapper/entrepreneur Jay Z since its launch in 2012.D'USSÉ Cognac was founded by Sovereign Brands and conceived by the senior-most cellar master working today, Michel Casavecchia. (Düsse was later sold to Bacardi and Jay-Z. Sovereign Brands still owns 1/3 of the brand.) D'usse is manufactured at the Château du Cognac.
On the nose, it reveals a powerful bouquet, rich in woody notes that are layered with touches of cinnamon and floral notes. Distinctively and unexpectedly smooth, with each taste, you savor hints of spices, almond and cinnamon. Subtle accents of honey and dried fruits are the finale."
The D'USSE Cognac company was founded by Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter in collaboration with Michel Casavecchia, one of the world's most experienced and respected cellar masters. Together, they created a smooth, bold cognac that perfectly reflects the luxuriousness and sophistication of the French art of cognac making.
