Distillery Information

Founded in 2014 by Ken Lewis, a visionary Kentucky liquor retailer and entrepreneur, New Riff is led by a team of corporate refugees ranging from craft beer to politics and more. New Riff crafts a range of whiskeys—Bourbon, Rye, and eventually Malted Rye and a host of specialty recipes—as well as Kentucky Wild Gin.
The Recipe - Bourbon is distilled from a fermented mash of grain, yeast and water. The “mash bill” must have a minimum of 51% corn.
New Riff began distilling in 2014 and now has about 53 full-time employees producing about 11,500 whiskey barrels a year. Proud to be the spark for bringing bourbon tourism to Greater Cincinnati, New Riff is family owned and operated with no outside investment now or forever.Bourbon distillation is the process of purifying the bourbon by heating and vaporizing it. The vapor, once condensed, is collected to obtain a purer and more concentrated alcoholic substance. Most distillers put bourbon through distillation twice. In the first step, the bourbon goes through column stills.Frey Ranch Bottled-In-Bond Straight Rye Whiskey is made with 100% Winter Cereal Rye. While it's rare to feature a 100% single grain mash bill, we wanted to showcase the quality of our slow-grown Rye grains without the impact of any other flavors.
