Distillery Information

Barbados has three major rum distilleries, Mount Gay Distilleries, West Indies Rum Distilleries and Foursquare Rum Distilleries. There is also St. Nicholas Abbey who produces rum on a smaller scale.
Alexandre Gabriel applies the discipline and passion of ancient craftsmen, artisans, and goldsmiths to his rum and cognac. In 1989 Alexander Gabriel discovers Maison Ferrand, one of the oldest spirit brands in the Cognac region.
It originates from the West Indies Rum Refinery in Barbados (we all know Ferrand, Plantation's parent company, owns it) where it is blended from pot/column still molasses-derived rums aged from one to three years, before being shipped off to France and aged in Ferrand's facilities there for another year. Most rum is produced from molasses, which is made from sugarcane. A rum's quality is dependent on the quality and variety of the sugar cane that was used to create it. The sugar cane's quality depends on the soil type and climate that it was grown in.
Spirits, such as vodka, whisky and also rum, are produced in a distillery. What is the location where they make rum called? The simplest answer would be a distillery.
