Distillery Information

The rum is produced by Wray and Nephew Limited, a renowned distillery with roots that date back to 1825.
Rum Coruba - Basler Rumkompanie. DISTILLED AND MATURED IN JAMAICA.
After five to six days in fermentation, the resulting “wash” is transferred to our 500-gal pot still, where the liquid is heated to separate the alcohols. The still converts the alcohols to vapor form and then returns it to liquid through a condenser.Black rum is the darkest in color, but has a light to medium body. It is made from molasses, the dark, sweet liquid left over after manufacturing crystallized sugar. These rums will embody the rich flavors and sometimes include added burnt caramel to darken the color.
In 2012, Gruppo Campari bought the parent company of J. Wray & Nephew. Here in the US, Coruba, Appleton, and Wray & Nephew rums are imported by the Campari group and are listed as being a product of Jamaica. The only Coruba bottlings we have in the US are the value-based Coruba Dark and the flavored rums.
