Distillery Information

In 1943, the family purchased the historic Charles Krug winery in Napa Valley. In 1966, Michael and his father Robert partnered to create Robert Mondavi Winery, then threw themselves behind promoting not just the winery's releases, but all Napa Valley wine.
The Chardonnay varietal originated in Burgundy, France. In 1941 there were 100 acres planted of Chardonnay in California. Today there is over 16,000 acres of Chardonnay vineyards in Sonoma County alone. Chardonnay remains the most well-known and bestselling white wine in the nation. The Robert Mondavi Chardonnay is a prized Napa Valley wine, thanks to its velvety texture and deep, concentrated fruit flavors, and buttery finish. A bottle of Mondavi's esteemed Chardonnay, Pinot Noir red wine, or Fume Blanc (sourced from the To Kalon vineyard) would be perfect for impressing your guests!
Champagne, Chablis, and Burgundy account for more than three-fifths of all Chardonnay plantings in France. The next-largest concentration is found in the Languedoc, where it was first planted around the town of Limoux and up to 30% can be blended with Mauzac in the sparkling Blanquette de Limoux.
Each sip of this chardonnay wine offers flavors of baked apples, poached pears, nectarine, peach, and pineapple complemented by notes of vanilla bean, baking spices, and brown sugar. Made with chardonnay grapes from California's best coastal vineyards, this Robert Mondavi wine features deep, concentrated fruit flavor.
