Nose:

On the palate, an exquisite harmony unfolds. Rich layers of flavor reveal themselves, starting with luscious orchard fruits – ripe apples, pears, and peaches – complemented by sweet honey and malted barley. Rosebank Distillery's history on its present site began in 1840 when James Rankine, a local wine merchant, acquired the maltings of the Camelon Distillery, which were on the opposite bank of the canal to the main distillery. Rankine expanded the distillery in 1845 before handing management onto his son R.W. Rankine.
The 'single' in 'single malt' simply means that the whisky is the product of a single distillery. Therefore, while a single malt can contain whisky from many different casks, all of this whisky must have been produced by one distillery.Just a couple of weeks after the 30th anniversary of its closure, Scotland's Lowland distillery Rosebank began making whisky once again. Owner Ian Macleod Distillers announced that Cask 001 of Rosebank new make spirit was filled on July 18th.In Scotland, the first evidence of whisky production comes from an entry in the Exchequer Rolls for 1495 where malt is sent "To Friar John Cor, by order of the king, to make aquavitae", enough to make about 500 bottles.
The first single malt release from Rosebank came out in 1982 as part of the Ascot Malt Cellar series from DCL. This also included bottlings from Linkwood, Talisker, and Lagavulin.
n October 2017 Ian MacLeod Distillers Ltd purchased the site from Scottish Canals and the trademarks from Diageo with the intention of reopening the site.
Typically single malt Scotch whisky is double distilled in distinctive copper pot stills. These stills are like very large kettles heating the liquid inside. The first distillation takes place in the 'wash' still where the alcohol vapours rise to the top first.
In distillation, the still is heated to just below the boiling point of water and the alcohol and other compounds vaporise and pass over the neck of the still into either a condenser or a worm – a large copper coil immersed in cold running water where the vapour is condensed into a liquid.
