Indulge in the refined elegance of Shibui Single Grain Whisky White Oak 10 Yr 86, a distinguished expression crafted with precision and expertise. Aged for a decade in carefully selected white oak barrels, this whisky offers a delightful balance of complexity and smoothness.

Handcrafted from the finest grains and distilled with meticulous attention to detail, Shibui Single Grain Whisky begins its journey with a mash bill featuring a single grain variety. This foundation sets the stage for the whisky's distinct character and smooth texture.

Following fermentation and distillation in traditional copper pot stills, the whisky is transferred to pristine white oak barrels for maturation. Over the course of 10 years, the whisky matures gracefully, absorbing the subtle flavors and aromas from the oak, resulting in a refined and well-rounded expression.

In the glass, Shibui Single Grain Whisky White Oak 10 Yr 86 showcases a golden amber hue, hinting at its maturity and depth of flavor. On the nose, aromas of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak greet the senses, alongside delicate hints of citrus and spice.

On the palate, this whisky delights with its smooth and velvety texture. Flavors of caramel, toffee, and vanilla dominate, complemented by subtle hints of baking spices and oak. The white oak influence adds complexity and depth, balancing the whisky's sweetness with a gentle oakiness.

The finish is long and satisfying, with the whisky's rich flavors lingering on the palate. A touch of spice and oak adds complexity, leaving a warm and comforting sensation that invites another sip.

Distillery Information

Distilled at the oldest distillery in Okinawa & matured in the finest American Ex-Bourbon Barrels, Shibui Single Grain 10 Year Old Bourbon Cask Matured Japanese Whisky delivers the perfect balance of sweet & spice.
Blended & bottled in Niigata, Japan, this 100% malt whisky is matured in American ex bourbon, Oloroso sherry & rare Japanese Mizunara Oak.
This has a copacetic nose of dry spices, pepper, sandy seashells, and Whoppers, but it's the comforting, warming flavors—applesauce, cream, malted chocolate-chip cookies, cinnamon, brown sugar, and spiced gingerbread—that really unmask its full potential.
Despite this overall similar taste with Scotch, Japanese whisky doesn't have a single flavor profile. Due to its historical links to Scotch, some bottles are peaty and earthy. On the other hand, others are more restrained and subdued.
Japanese whisky is modeled after the scotch tradition—double distilling malted and/or peated barley—before it's aged in wood barrels. As opposed to the sweeter American bourbons and ryes, they tend to be drier, smokier, and peatier, and come as single malts or blends.
Description. Sourced from an award-winning distillery in Niigata, Shibui Pure Malt 10YR old is a marriage of whisky made from 100% malted barley. Multi-cask maturation and aged for 10 years, these whiskies balance perfectly to ignite the palate.
